John Willer, D.O.
Dr. John Willer, D.O. specializes in cataracts and general ophthalmology. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology after attending the Cedarville College in Cedarville, Ohio. In 1993, he earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine, in Athens, Ohio. After completing his internship there, he began his residency at the Grandview and Southview Hospitals in Dayton, Ohio. He became certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Ophthalmology in 1998.
Dr. Willer performs no-stitch cataract surgery and other treatment at the Columbia Gorge Surgery Center in The Dalles. For convenience, he also has local hospital affiliations with the Providence Hood River Medical Hospital in Hood River and the Skyline Hospital in White Salmon. He is also an Adjunct Clinical Professor at the Pacific University College of Optometry.
Being able to make a difference in somebody’s life by restoring their vision is so important to Dr. Willer and he often volunteers to help those in need overseas. In December 2010 he completed his third medical mission trip to India where he provided no-cost cataract surgery and treatment to hundreds of patients.
